My name is Alex Adam and I am currently doing a professional musicianship degree at Brighton Institute of Modern Music and already hold both an A* in GCSE Music and Distinction Level Diploma in Artist Development. I have been in numerous bands, both function and original. I am a songwriter and have collaborated with many Brighton based artists. I am also fully trained in both Cubase, Nuendo and Logic. I have been playing guitar for 8 years and can play and teach all styles. I am fully CRB checked. |

I have been playing guitar and bass professionally for over ten years in various situations, including original bands, function/cover bands, session work and international touring. I have taught for over eight years, working with children and adults in one-on-one and group settings.
I play all styles of guitar such as slide, rock, metal, funk, reggae, blues, jazz, flamenco and country, with specialization in creative rock guitar techniques.
Teaching between Hove and Eastbourne, I am a friendly, flexible teacher, either taking you through my own syllabus or tailoring the lessons to focus on any aspects of your playing you wish!
Project-based sessions are available and exclusive to The Tone Workshop! I will work on any area or problem chosen by you using a full, modern digital recording studio setup (studio lessons available in Hove only).
Some common project topics covered are: Timing, tuning, tone, composition, session skills, equipment and effects, transcription/notation, recording parts and harmony guitars.
One-to-one lessons are delivered in one hour sessions either at The Tone Workshop or the client’s location, paid for in advance in blocks of four lessons. A single introductory lesson is available to try me out. Group lessons are done at my premises and are most suitable for friends and siblings wishing to share the cost.
I am CRB checked and hold a degree (BA Hons) in Professional Musicianship from University of Sussex (BIMM). Trinity or Rockschool grades and exams can be followed if required.

Richard is a seasoned player having worked extensively in the UK and abroad which has seen him along side many respected musicians and producers from Steve Moris (Beach Boys), Tony Tilman (Bill Cosby), Pete Friesen (Alice Cooper), Pete Mills (Ghost Productions, Elton John) and many more.
On the live front Richard has played worldwide with international show band Vitalized. Other performances include Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Brian May (Queen) and Dan Hawkins (The Darkness) as part of Riffathon '04. Richard’s playing also attracted Total Guitar magazine who featured him in their ‘Guitar Wars’ article.
Richard studied music production and performance obtaining 'Guitarist of the Year' award at the prestigious Academy of Contemporary Music. Richard teaches privately at his home studio in Eastbourne and at The Guitar School (RGT School of the year). Richard focuses on each student individually to make sure they progress and get the most from their tuition.
Richard regularly writes and records music for a variety of projects including TV and Film and also performs with South African artist Samantha Horwill. |
