I have been teaching for twelve years, since the age of 14, and pride myself on being a forward thinking, dynamic teacher who puts enjoyment through learning at the centre of all the tuition I provide. I offer lessons tailor-made to suit every individual student, giving them space to try out a wide variety of styles to find what they enjoy the most, while giving them the technical and musical tools to build their playing ability quickly and enjoyably. I place emphasis on improvisation and creativity over simple repetition of scored material, but I do ensure that, should the student wish, they can enjoy the more traditional 'reading and exams' teaching method. All students learn to read music, and are taught theory and a little history, but it's always fun! My experience has shown me that the most effective music tuition combines creativity, discipline and enjoyment, and that is what I aim to deliver.
I have been a musician my whole life, studying cello from age 7, piano from age 11 and vocals from age 13, plus guitar and saxophone. I have ABRSM Grade 8 in my disciplines and have recently been awarded a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Professional Musicianship from the University of Sussex.
I currently teach in Eastbourne on Tuesdays and also teach from my studio in Hove on other days, but feel free to get in touch to see if we can find a day to suit you.

Piano (All ages):
I offer tuition in piano, organ and synth in both classical and popular music. Whether you would like to learn classical piano, take Associated Board exams, play keyboards like Stevie Wonder or play synth in a prog-rock band, I offer something for everyone! I couple learning pieces and songs with technical development and improvisation to help students learn the ins and outs of the instrument quickly, keeping things fun and fresh allowing you to experiment while you learn and enjoy the endless potential of keyboards! Coming from a classical background I am also happy to teach purely classical piano technique, using ABRSM exams if required, or a combination - whatever you would like to learn, I can teach you!
