Since starting to teach in the UK, I have helped over 40 students attain music scholarships and my students consistently achieve excellent results in their music exams – both with ABRSM and Trinity – all the way through to diploma level as well and music competitions, music festivals and music university preparation. I also offer online music theory classes on Zoom or in person.
I was inspired to start sharing my experience and understanding of music by my mother (also a violin, viola and piano teacher!). She always made them laugh and enjoy music while still imparting valuable knowledge with everything she said. She also took the time to organise recitals for them which I feel is very important as well and regularly organise concerts for my students to perform in.
I was born in Canada and first started playing violin at age five as part of a musical family. Both my father and grandfather come from strong Hungarian traditions of violin playing going back to Jenö Hubay. At the age of just sixteen, I was accepted into the professional performance diploma programme at the renowned Music University of Vienna, where I received training with Prof. Jan Pospichal (concertmaster of the Vienna Symphony) and graduated with first class honours in 2007.
Extensive solo and orchestra performances throughout Germany, Austria, Italy, China, Japan, Canada and many other countries, as well as solo electric violin tours, have provided me with a wealth of experience as a versatile soloist and chamber musician. Having also studied with György Pauk (Royal Academy of Music), Gyula Stuller (Haute Ecole de Musique, Lausanne) and Marina Sorokova has given me a broad technical and musical background.
In 2012, I also completed a MA in Music Industry Management in London to complement my previous music studies, having discovered a strong interest in the managerial aspect of music. However, throughout my studies and performances I have always loved teaching and now teach at the North London Conservatoire, where I also enjoy my role of organising over 200 concerts per year for students. I also teach in schools throughout London and the South East, having lived in Sutton, Haywards Heath, and now Eastbourne over the past 10 years. I continue to enjoy performing both with my acoustic and electric violin in concerts, and always try to find some time for designing and sewing clothes, reading and cooking.
